This small palm has bright green feathery leaves on slender stems.

Chamaedorea Elegans should be given a location a little back from the windows because it cannot stand direct sunlight.

Temperature

Needs temperatures of 10°C and above.

General Information

The Chamaedorea is easy to care for, and has been beloved as a houseplant since the Victorian times – hence its nickname of ‘parlour palm’. Sometimes also called the neanthe bella palm, or dwarf mountain palm. It is a slow growing plant that can eventually reach about 1m tall. Mature plants may flower if they have enough light.
