Project: Canopius
Location: 29th & 30th Floor, Bishopsgate, London
Details: Eclectic & Original planting theme
Tasked with a Theme of both “Eclectic & Original” we worked closely with HLW Architects and Canopious to pull together this stunning planting design for their offices.
Firstly, we scattered groups of floor standing planters throughout the office floor space to give the diverse mix-and-match feel, accentuating this with some desktop planters in the available spaces. We then arranged to plant custom-built bespoke troughs and joinery pieces, including a planter in the bleacher seating, with a beautiful mix of diverse tropical plants. These one-off planted masterpieces are certainly original, whilst also softening the office feel. The lockers and cabinets were then fitted with bespoke cabinet top planters and these again filled with a wide range of living plant varieties.
To create atmosphere, we then felt that a living wall was necessary to create a partition in the brokers lounge whilst being totally different and original. This was created by training scindaptus plants up a wire mesh, which will in time keep growing and fill out even more.
As a final crowning touch, a tree! This reception centrepiece rises up through the spiral staircase, giving a wholly unique feel. The planter was custom built as a continuation of the flooring so as to seamlessly blend in with the stairs and floor. The client provided us with their visual brief for the tree which was a branched and spreading specimen. Together we came up with a wild-grown Ficus Nitida as a best match for the visual requirement, whilst fitting the height and width constraints of the staircase.
“PlantCare worked with us to understand the unique fit-out of our office and provided a planting strategy that complimented the finished design.”
