Project: Hydrock
Location: London
Details: New office for an existing client
Hydrock are an existing client we have been working with for a few years. Wanting to keep all their planting contracts with one supplier, we were in a great position to work with them on their new London office at Great Suffolk Street. Promoting a healthy and sustainable workspace was paramount and the planting played a big part in this.
Woodhouse Workspace were instructed as the fitout company and we worked off their designs and visuals to create a planting scheme that would bring their vision of a warm and inviting interior to reality.
One of the main biophilic features in this office is the cabinet top planters which provides greenery throughout the main office area while taking up no additional floor space. The built in planters were not waterproof so we manufactured bespoke planters to ensure the longevity of the furniture.
Other planting features have been used such as a variety of carefully selected specimen plants positioned around the office. When designing the planting scheme, we chose to finish the planters in dark grey to match the furniture and fit in with the general mood of the office.
High level trailing planting was required for the bespoke frame structure above the bar area. This created a unique and biophilic lighting feature in the kitchen area. As light levels were low here and maintenance would be challenging, we opted to use a high quality range of faux planting to guarantee the foliage would always look perfect!
Not only did we create a vibrant interior working space but we also brought the exterior terrace planting to life! While the building was unoccupied, the planter bed had become overgrown and weeds had started taking over. We tidied this area up and added some additional plants to create a stunning external space and desirable environment to encourage staff wellbeing and engagement.
