Project: BBC Studios
Location: Bridgewater House, Bristol
PlantCare really enjoyed working with BBC Studios, to help them create a solution to uphold their company’s environmental commitments.
In the designs for BBC Studio’s new offices at Bridgewater House, plants were to be a central part of the fitout. However, not far into the planting project BBC came up against a big problem – none of the planting could be grown in peat due to the BBC’s environmental commitments.
After much stressful research and shopping around, BBC came to PlantCare for the solution! We provide a peat-free planting option, using hydroculture plants that have never been grown in peat, and thus comply fully with BBC Studio’s environmental commitments.
In addition to the peat-free plants, the floor standing planters we provided for this project are of a certified co2 neutral product, made with recycled materials, and are 100% recyclable planters.
This great planting scheme includes a collection of plants in terracotta planters on the hanging frame above the reception desk, a mix of eclectic planters throughout the canteen & breakout areas, a sea of planting in bespoke joinery pieces including tables, and floor standing & cabinet top planters through the office spaces. A great project, with an enormous quantity of plants!
These plants are grown in expanded clay granules, rather than peat, and are thus a much more sustainable option.
