The big question - what are the pros and cons of renting office plants?
Is it better to rent, or is it better to buy outright - this may seem a big decision. To help you we have made a list of the pro’s and con’s of rental:
Pro’s
A great feel of flexibility - the plant displays are only rented so you are not stuck with them forever ,and if you would like to change the look and feel of your office it is easy to change your style and plants at the end of your contract.
There is no up-front cost. Rented displays are only charged for once they’re installed and these payments are smaller monthly figures so a lot easier to budget for and account for on a month by month basis.
If any of the plants die, they are not yours so you don’t have to pay for the replacements. Like this you can ensure you always have healthy plants, and it’s a great way of keeping excellent planting standards in your offices.
Con’s
The plants don’t belong to you so should you wish to discontinue at the end of the contract, we will remove the plants from your offices.
You have to enter into a contract for renting plants, this contract is fixed for a specified time (see more information on contracts here). During this time you can’t cancel the contract unless you pay out the contract.
If I decide to buy the plants outright, what are the wins?
Some of our customers choose to own the office plants we install, to ensure they are theirs for ever. As with the rental system this has its pro’s and con’s. to help you make the right decision for you, we have listed these advantages and disadvantages out below:
Pro’s
The displays are yours, regardless of whether you choose to maintain them yourselves or outsource it. This gives you some flexibility as you are not bound into a contract (if you don’t have a maintenance plan).
Once you have bought the plants you have no on-going costs.
Con’s
We require you to pay upfront for these plants, so the initial cost will be a lot larger.
If you would like a change of plants and planter styles you will have to remove and dispose of your current planting yourselves and re-purchase new plants/planters.
If any of the plants die, and you are not on a maintenance package, you will have to cover the costs of replacement plants yourselves.
